Our Rooms

Our rooms are simple but unforgettable, unique with little touches that will bring a smile to your face and warmth to your soul.  Quirky features, bespoke and sympathetically upcycled furniture, soft muted chalk painted walls and floors, all unite together to lull you gently and soothingly into a simple unhindered routine.  Old pots and tins full of fresh wild flowers dance around your senses, ambassadors of the wonders that await you outside.   Our freshly laundered soft white cotton bed linen has aromatic, calming lavender water misted over it during pressing, and is understated but luxurious to curl up beneath. Plump duvets and pillows add to the indulgence, with a feather topped mattress to rest upon and stems of fresh lavender and edible fancies placed upon each pillow.  Sumptuous Greenfibres http://www.greenfibres.com/ organic towels and robes have been sourced from a local supplier for you to use.

You can find all that you need in the serenity of your room, nourishment for the body and soul. Although you will probably be far too busy revisiting your inner child or indulging your urge to simply ‘BE’.

All rooms have the facility to make tea and coffee and also a television and DVD player plus a CD player and access to numerous CD’s and DVD’s from our ever growing collection should you desire. You will also find hair driers in each room, along with magazines, newspapers etc. In our endeavour to nurture our planet we have tried wherever possible to recycle and reinvent items. We have sourced all our towels from Greenfibres, again ecologically sound in all that they make. All our bath products are manufactured without being tested on animals, and are sourced locally from small independent businesses.

Large Double/Family room: This large double room is extremely light with dual sash windows housed in a bright bay, with comfy seating and quirky table placed sympathetically to allow you to enjoy the view whilst sipping your coffee or wine.

Taking lead role in the room is a truly romantic king size Squigalina metal four poster bed courtesy of AND SO TO BED loving clothed in soft lavender scented freshly laundered white linen, lusciously plump feather and down filled pillows atop a bolster for that decadent feel, below which lies a feather topped mattress for added luxury (giving you even more reason to linger for that coveted long awaited lie in).

Relax with a book in one of the two lovingly restored french antique easy chairs beneath one of the luxuriously soft pure wool throws. This room has shared use of private bathroom with deep bath and artisan bespoke copper rain shower, draped with pure linen curtain and Annie Sloane painted walls and floor and plenty of candles to enjoy a long lingering indulgent bath.

Double Room: This double room has an antique Victorian Walnut double bed bedecked in soft lavender scented freshly laundered white ben linen, lusciously plump feather and down filled pillows atop a vintage bolster, below which lies a feather topped mattress for added luxury (giving you even more of a reason to linger for that coveted long awaited lie in) all topped off with a quilted bedspread and cosy wool throws. The room overlooks the garden and fields and across to the sea beyond. It has a private shower room and toilet.

Double Room:  This Double room has a lovely beachy feel, with a rustic panelled wall paint washed in Farrow & Ball’s Borrowed Light and white washed old wooden floorboards with a gorgoeus deep pile rug for that luxurious feel under foot.  Nestled in pride of place is a handmade bespoke double wooden bed with a rustic headboard crafted from recycled vintage windows and adorned in pure white hand embroidered bed linen nestling beneath a hand quilted Susie Watson throw and lavender scented soft freshly laundered white bed linen, lusciously plump feather and down filled pillows atop a bolster for that decadent feel, beneath which, there is a feather topped mattress for added luxury and comfort. The room overlooks the large rear garden with all its plants, to the fields and sea beyond. Each day the sun weaves its way throw the dated sash windows framed with french style wooden shutters, to welcome you to another day of discovery and adventure. This room has shared use of private bathroom with deep bath and artisan bespoke copper rain shower, draped with pure linen curtain and Annie Sloane painted walls and floor and plenty of candles to enjoy a long lingering indulgent bath.

Our bathrooms are all handmade by Ethan, Sarah and Jeremy and are one of a kind, with luscious linen drapes, large copper rain shower and copper and brass taps, travertine tiles dotted with small art pieces that have been hand crafted by Sarah.  Old reclaimed wooden shutters conceal welcoming wooden flowers on willowy copper stems, dancing at the foot of the windows.  The stone sink rests on top of a weathered, well-travelled sleeper that Ethan diligently and in a heroic and back breaking effort, rescued from Freathy beach.  You will even find a recycled vintage singer treadle sewing table in the shower room with an antique brass jam kettle.  Candles are ever present, a must for long romantic baths or simply relaxing, along with bare wooden floors with hidden gems of light that throw soft shimmers upwards. Locally sourced artisan soaps, shampoos, body washes and creams are available for your use, along with indulgent aromatic healing bath elixirs for you to drizzle into that deep luxurious bath that you have been dreaming of and promising yourself for ages.
